Béatrice Graf proposes two years of performances in the field of everyday activities, of artistic wandering out with the confines of the traditional establishments. In doing this, the artist returns to the sources of a local economy, and pursues an approach already established many years ago. There is neither score, nor advice, nor direction given. The art of the duo, the smallest possible orchestra, is caught in its most absolute form in this spontaneous dialogue. As for the listeners, aware or unaware of the event’s, they go along on a journey. A window opens in their imagination, a discovery or a distant memory is at work. Miniscule in front of the horizon, lost in the mayhem of a market, the musicians return to what they always were: purveyors of the moment. __________________________________________________________ Béatrice Graf a réalisé deux années de performances dans les champs du quotidien, de transhumance artistique hors des lieux consacrés. Ce faisant, l’artiste poursuit une démarche entamée depuis de nombreuses années. Il n’y a ni partition, ni préavis, ni concertation hiérarchique. L’art du duo, le plus petit orchestre possible, est tout entier compris dans ce jeu du dialogue impromptu. Quant aux auditeurs, informés ou non du passage, ils font un voyage. Une fenêtre s’ouvre dans leur imaginaire, une découverte ou une réminiscence sont à l’oeuvre. Minuscules devant l’horizon, perdus dans le brouhaha d’un marché, les musiciens redeviennent ce qu’ils ont toujours été: des passeurs d’instant. _______________________________________________________ Béatrice Graf hat zwei Jahre Performances auf den Feldern des Alltags realisiert. Ein musikalisch-poetischer Alpauf- und Abzug ausserhalb der gewohnten Spielorte. Die Künstlerin verfolgt damit ihren Weg den sie vor Jahren auf Reisen begonnen hat. Es gibt keine Noten, keine Vorankündigung, keine bestimmte Hierarchie. Die Kunst des Duos, des kleinstmöglichsten Orchesters, kann sich in diesem Spiel des improvisierten Dialogs entfalten. Das Publikum, Kenner oder Passanten, erwartet eine Reise. Ein Fenster öffnet sich in der Vorstellung. Entdeckung und Erinnerung sind am Werk. Winzig vor dem Horizont, verloren im Lärm auf einem Markt, werden die Musiker wieder, was sie immer gewesen sind: Vermittler des Augenblicks. ___________________________________________________________ Béatrice Graf ha realizzato due anni di “performances” le campo del quotidiano, delle transumanze artistiche fuori dai luoghi consacrati ai musicisti. Cosi facendo, Béatrice Graf ripercorre una strada intrapresa già da molto tempo. Niente spartiti, preavvisi o consultazione gerarchica. L’arte del duo, la più piccola orchestra possibile, è compresa interamente in questo gioco del dialogo improvvisato. Gli ascoltatori, venuti di proposito, oppure di passaggio, intraprendono un autentico viaggio. Si apre una finestra nel loro immaginario, operano la scoperta e la reminiscenza. I musicisti, minuscoli dinanzi all’orizzonte, perduti nel vocio di un mercato, ritornano ad essere coloro che sono sempre stati: dei traghettatori dell’istante.
